Each time a book in the White Horse Clan comes out, I snatch it up. I fell in love with the first story -- The visual of a herd stallion shifter mated to an ancient vampire. Add in a gibbon and things got even more interesting.

So this story is about Bannock, an Elven Prince. He leads his followers in America, those that broke off from the old country and have been existing on their own for centuries. A bit more into the story we learn that Bannock is in line for the Elven throne. Of course there's political unrest that interferes with his mating.

Aric is a human that has left an abusive relationship. A stalker ex. As he enters Ian's lands he falls into a evil vampire wizards hands. . . *Rescue* and *Rescue* Then there's Guy. An interesting shifter and class that is rare and drives fear and distrust into those around him.

There's a lot going on in this story. Aric, a human, had to accustom himself to the paranormal, deal with his stalker, and overcome his fear from dealing with the wizard. Guy has to earn acceptance from Ian, the paranormals living in the area, and his mates. All this when threats happen and Guy has to defend himself and those he's fated. Then there's Bannock, the elf. He's the oldest of the triad, has a settled lifestyle, and even has a family. So with Bannock we have politics, family to deal with, and surprisingly enough, very little about the elves in his village. I can't remember if Bannock is even mentioned in the other stories. And from this one he's consulting Ian and Malcolm as a valued leader. It was just strange.

It bothered me that Bannock's speech was so stilted. Formal. Polite. All. The. Time. You'd think that when he's with his mates he'd relax and unwind and speak differently. But no, he doesn't. It was noticeable and very odd. No contractions, everything was spelled out. Yet. Bannock had been in America for centuries. I was surprised his mates didn't call him on his 'Stiff upper lip and speaking like the gentry.'

I'd probably have to re-read this one to pinpoint why it was an okay read for me. Part of it was so much was going on that impacted the triad's mating. The focus was on outside forces. There wasn't a happy balance between the guys and how they felt instead of how they reacted.. I would have liked to see Bannock, Aric, and Guy starting their lives there in the Elven Village, even a look at the fair from their viewpoint, once the fair started. The guys were never able to just sit back and enjoy being with each other, live together and not just protecting and saving, rescuing, and being on guard. - Dan's Wife

Good book.
This was fantastic I Loved it I laughed so much people looked at me like I was crazy I can't wait to read the next one in this series....I hope it's soon I will be watching for more.
Loved this book. I also loved this series. The guys started to love and care for each other. They accepted the differences and loved each other for them. I can not wait for the next book. Erin
When I picked this up I didn't know it was apart of a series, so I was just confused for pretty much all of the book. The writing was all over the place, we switched points of view in the middle of the chapter with no warning it was really frustrating.
This is one of those "aww" kind of stories. It gives you warm fuzzy feelings right through. The love between the three characters are endearing. The only issue I had was with their first love making / bonding scene. It was an important scene and I feel that Bannock was unfair in how he handled it. There was no reason for him to turn insta-dom with Guy. I hated the fact that Guy constantly came second...or third. However it works. That is purely my personal opinion though, because I liked Guy more. He is just too adorable. I realise it can be difficult to balance the fictional relationship out when it comes to a menae, especially when the reader can favor one character over another. I can see that Stark intended the relationship to be equally loving on all three ends, but for me (personally) she juuuuust missed it. Guy was definitely almost 3rd wheel. Almost.
